Chelsea Niehaus, Intern
I’ve always felt drawn to helping others. Since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to be someone people could turn to during hard times. Life can be messy and unpredictable, and I believe none of us are meant to go through it alone. My passion as a therapist is to support people as they build resilience, find strength, and discover healthier ways to cope with whatever life throws their way.
I especially enjoy working with teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and major life transitions. I also have a heart for those dealing with the challenges of chronic illness, both personally and within the family system. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I want clients to feel truly heard, understood, and supported.
My background is a little unique. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Communication from Illinois State University, where I also spent time teaching children and young adults social-emotional skills. I’m currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at Florida State University, graduating in May 2026. Before entering the mental health field, I worked in college advising and sales training, which gave me valuable insight into communication, motivation, and the struggles people face in different stages of life.
Outside of work, I am married with two kids who keep me busy and grounded. We also have a lovable Goldendoodle who’s part of the family. When I’m not with them, you can usually find me doing Pilates, reading a good thriller, dancing, or soaking up time outdoors. I love to travel when I can—and if it involves the beach even better!
